Danya is a former preschool and high school teacher whose love of working with children therapeutically and scholastically has spanned almost twenty years. Danya uses directive and non-directive child centered play therapy with the goal of supporting clients and families as they practice emotional regulation, increase awareness of their own feelings and triggers, and achieve greater insight into their own behaviors and thought processes.
Trained as an educator and as an evidence-based practitioner, Danya employs a warm, strengths-based approach to therapy while integrating bibliotherapy, play therapy, and behavioral therapy into her clinical work. Whether the client is a child or an adult, Danya believes that the path to wellness is a journey upon which therapist and client embark together.
